Tangier gears up for 2030 as a World Cup host city

Morocco will co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal, with matches across six Moroccan host cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Fez, Marrakech and Agadir.

Tangier's Grand Stade de Tanger has been redeveloped to a capacity of around 75,600 and fitted with modern operations technology ahead of the tournament. Casablanca's new Grand Stade Hassan II, at roughly 115,000 seats, is set to be Morocco's flagship venue.

The build-out across northern Morocco — stadiums, transport and hotels — is reshaping the coast just across the water from Gibraltar.
